- Both flags use the same colours — red, white and green — so the difference is in the shades and the shape.
- Hungary is three equal horizontal bands; Italy is three equal vertical bands.
- Hungary flies at 1:2 and Italy at 2:3, so side by side one looks longer than the other.
- Even the shared colours are mixed differently: red (#CE2939 against #CD212A) and green (#477050 against #008C45).
How to keep them straight
Hungary: Lock in the order — red, white then green — from the top down. Say it out loud once and you will still have it tomorrow.
Italy: Think of a Caprese salad in order: basil, mozzarella, tomato.
