How to play

You get a country name and a blank canvas — no reference image. Draw the flag from memory, then hit Reveal & Score.

How the score works

An uneven tricolour still scores in the nineties. The right colours in the wrong order does not.

Stuck? Take a hint

Up to three outline hints per flag. Dashed guides gradually trace the flag's actual shapes, from main outlines to smaller details, without showing colours. Simple flags need fewer hints. Your score stays the same, and the result and share card note how many you used.

Italy vs Mexico

These two are close enough that people routinely draw one when they mean the other. Take the challenge first — the flags are further down the page.

What actually differs

  • Both flags use the same colours — green, white and red — so the difference is in the shades and the shape.
  • Italy is three equal vertical bands; Mexico is three vertical bands with a central emblem.
  • Italy flies at 2:3 and Mexico at 4:7, so side by side one looks longer than the other.
  • Even the shared colours are mixed differently: green (#008C45 against #006847) and red (#CD212A against #CE1126).

How to keep them straight

Italy: Think of a Caprese salad in order: basil, mozzarella, tomato.

Mexico: Italy plus an eagle eating a snake on a cactus — and a deeper green.

The drawing scorer is built for exactly this: if you swap the colours of Italy it will tell you which two you flipped, rather than just handing you a low number.
