How to play

You get a country name and a blank canvas — no reference image. Draw the flag from memory, then hit Reveal & Score.

How the score works

An uneven tricolour still scores in the nineties. The right colours in the wrong order does not.

Stuck? Take a hint

Three structure hints per flag. Each one adds dashed guides — where the divisions fall, where an emblem sits, how the proportions work — and never a colour or a name. They do not change your score, but the result and the share card note how many you took.

How to draw the flag of Thailand

The flag of Thailand is five horizontal bands — red, white and blue from top to bottom. It flies at a ratio of 2:3.

The flag of Thailand — ratio 2:3

Step by step

  1. Start with the right shape. Thailand flies at 2:3 — for every 3 units of width the flag is 2 tall. Sketch that rectangle first; a flag drawn too square is the fastest way to lose layout points.
  2. Divide the height into five. Mark four guide lines before you fill anything in. Even bands matter more than neat edges — the scorer cares where the colour blocks sit.
  3. Band 1: red. Fill the first band from the top with red. Use the fill tool rather than shading — flat blocks score better than sketchy strokes.
  4. Band 2: white. Fill the second band from the top with white. Use the fill tool rather than shading — flat blocks score better than sketchy strokes.
  5. Band 3: blue. Fill the third band from the top with blue. Use the fill tool rather than shading — flat blocks score better than sketchy strokes.

What the flag means

Red for the land and people, white for religion, blue for the monarchy.

Common mistakes

  • Making all five stripes equal. The blue centre band is double height.
  • Watch out for Costa Rica and North Korea — they are close enough to Thailand that people draw the wrong one from memory.
