How to play

You get a country name and a blank canvas — no reference image. Draw the flag from memory, then hit Reveal & Score.

How the score works

An uneven tricolour still scores in the nineties. The right colours in the wrong order does not.

Stuck? Take a hint

Three structure hints per flag. Each one adds dashed guides — where the divisions fall, where an emblem sits, how the proportions work — and never a colour or a name. They do not change your score, but the result and the share card note how many you took.

How to draw the flag of Paraguay

The flag of Paraguay is three equal horizontal bands — red, white and blue from top to bottom, with coat of arms. It flies at a ratio of 11:20.

The flag of Paraguay — ratio 11:20

Step by step

  1. Start with the right shape. Paraguay flies at 11:20 — for every 20 units of width the flag is 11 tall. Sketch that rectangle first; a flag drawn too square is the fastest way to lose layout points.
  2. Divide the height into three. Mark two guide lines before you fill anything in. Even bands matter more than neat edges — the scorer cares where the colour blocks sit.
  3. Band 1: red. Fill the first band from the top with red. Use the fill tool rather than shading — flat blocks score better than sketchy strokes.
  4. Band 2: white. Fill the second band from the top with white. Use the fill tool rather than shading — flat blocks score better than sketchy strokes.
  5. Band 3: blue. Fill the third band from the top with blue. Use the fill tool rather than shading — flat blocks score better than sketchy strokes.
  6. Finish with the coat of arms. Detail is the last ten percent of the score, so leave it until the colour blocks are down. Size and position count for more than drawing every line of it.

Paraguay flag colours

The colour codes below are the ones to reach for if you are recreating the flag digitally.

ColourHexRGB
Red #D52B1E rgb(213, 43, 30)
White #FFFFFF rgb(255, 255, 255)
Blue #0038A8 rgb(0, 56, 168)

Common mistakes

  • Watch out for the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Croatia — they are close enough to Paraguay that people draw the wrong one from memory.
  • Colour order is where most people slip. Fix which colour touches the top — that one anchor keeps the rest in place.
  • The proportions are unusual: 11:20 is longer than the usual 2:3 rectangle.

A trick for remembering it

Lock in the order — red, white then blue — from the top down. Say it out loud once and you will still have it tomorrow.
