How to play

You get a country name and a blank canvas — no reference image. Draw the flag from memory, then hit Reveal & Score.

How the score works

An uneven tricolour still scores in the nineties. The right colours in the wrong order does not.

Stuck? Take a hint

Three structure hints per flag. Each one adds dashed guides — where the divisions fall, where an emblem sits, how the proportions work — and never a colour or a name. They do not change your score, but the result and the share card note how many you took.

How to draw the flag of Czechia

The flag of Czechia is a triangle at the hoist over horizontal bands in white, red and blue. It flies at a ratio of 2:3.

Flag of Czechia
The flag of Czechia — ratio 2:3

Step by step

  1. Start with the right shape. Czechia flies at 2:3 — for every 3 units of width the flag is 2 tall. Sketch that rectangle first; a flag drawn too square is the fastest way to lose layout points.
  2. Block in the background. Fill the whole flag with white first, then build the rest on top of it. Working from the largest area to the smallest keeps the proportions honest.
  3. Add the red and blue. A triangle at the hoist over horizontal bands. Place these shapes by eye against the edges of the flag, not against each other.

The colour codes below are the ones to reach for if you are recreating the flag digitally.

ColourHexRGB
White #FFFFFF rgb(255, 255, 255)
Red #D7141A rgb(215, 20, 26)
Blue #11457E rgb(17, 69, 126)

What the flag means

The white and red are the historic colours of Bohemia; the blue triangle was added in 1920 for Moravia and Slovakia.

Common mistakes

  • Drawing the triangle too short. The blue wedge reaches exactly halfway across the flag.
  • Watch out for the Philippines — it is close enough to Czechia that people draw the wrong one from memory.
