How to play

You get a country name and a blank canvas — no reference image. Draw the flag from memory, then hit Reveal & Score.

How the score works

An uneven tricolour still scores in the nineties. The right colours in the wrong order does not.

Stuck? Take a hint

Three structure hints per flag. Each one adds dashed guides — where the divisions fall, where an emblem sits, how the proportions work — and never a colour or a name. They do not change your score, but the result and the share card note how many you took.

How to draw the flag of Comoros

The flag of the Comoros is a one-of-a-kind layout in yellow, white, red, blue and green, with crescent and four stars. It flies at a ratio of 3:5.

Flag of Comoros
The flag of Comoros — ratio 3:5

Step by step

  1. Start with the right shape. the Comoros flies at 3:5 — for every 5 units of width the flag is 3 tall. Sketch that rectangle first; a flag drawn too square is the fastest way to lose layout points.
  2. Block in the background. Fill the whole flag with yellow first, then build the rest on top of it. Working from the largest area to the smallest keeps the proportions honest.
  3. Add the white, red, blue and green. A one-of-a-kind layout. Place these shapes by eye against the edges of the flag, not against each other.
  4. Finish with the crescent and four stars. Detail is the last ten percent of the score, so leave it until the colour blocks are down. Size and position count for more than drawing every line of it.

Comoros flag colours

The colour codes below are the ones to reach for if you are recreating the flag digitally.

ColourHexRGB
Yellow #FFD100 rgb(255, 209, 0)
White #FFFFFF rgb(255, 255, 255)
Red #CE1126 rgb(206, 17, 38)
Blue #3A75C4 rgb(58, 117, 196)
Green #009A49 rgb(0, 154, 73)

Common mistakes

  • The proportions are unusual: 3:5 is slightly squarer than the usual 2:3 rectangle.

A trick for remembering it

Anchor on the biggest shape: a one-of-a-kind layout in yellow, white, red, blue and green. Everything else on the flag hangs off that.
