How to play

You get a country name and a blank canvas — no reference image. Draw the flag from memory, then hit Reveal & Score.

How the score works

An uneven tricolour still scores in the nineties. The right colours in the wrong order does not.

Stuck? Take a hint

Up to three outline hints per flag. Dashed guides gradually trace the flag's actual shapes, from main outlines to smaller details, without showing colours. Simple flags need fewer hints. Your score stays the same, and the result and share card note how many you used.

What you are drawing

The flag of Spain is three equal horizontal bands — red, yellow and red from top to bottom, with coat of arms. It flies at a ratio of 2:3. On the PlayVexle difficulty scale it rates ★★★★☆ — one of the harder flags to recall accurately, mostly because of the detail in the middle.

How to score well on this one

  • Colour is 70% of the score, so get the 3 bands down as flat blocks before anything else. Which colour touches the top is the single thing most people get wrong.
  • The coat of arms counts for the final 10%. Roughly the right size in roughly the right place scores nearly as well as a perfect one — do not start there.
  • Draw it at 2:3. The canvas is already the right shape, so fill it edge to edge rather than leaving a border.
