How to play

You get a country name and a blank canvas — no reference image. Draw the flag from memory, then hit Reveal & Score.

How the score works

An uneven tricolour still scores in the nineties. The right colours in the wrong order does not.

Stuck? Take a hint

Up to three outline hints per flag. Dashed guides gradually trace the flag's actual shapes, from main outlines to smaller details, without showing colours. Simple flags need fewer hints. Your score stays the same, and the result and share card note how many you used.

What you are drawing

The flag of Iceland is an off-centre cross with the upright shifted toward the hoist in blue, white and red. It flies at a ratio of 18:25. On the PlayVexle difficulty scale it rates ★★☆☆☆ — a flag most people can reproduce closely on the first attempt.

How to score well on this one

  • Block in the largest area first — on this flag that is blue — then work down to the smaller shapes. Layout is 20% of the score and it is judged on where the blocks sit, not how neat the edges are.
  • The off-centre cross counts for the final 10%. Roughly the right size in roughly the right place scores nearly as well as a perfect one — do not start there.
  • Draw it at 18:25. The canvas is already the right shape, so fill it edge to edge rather than leaving a border.
